DAY SIX

Not much time to paint today but I will aim for three hours at least.

Step One: Finding a grey light green for the Ivy. This is mostly Lemon Yellow and Thalo Green but tamed by hearty amounts of Raw Sienna. It is still a blob of a mess but I have my chroma and tones that I want, both low and light. The dark is Lemon Yellow, Thalo Green and Burnt Umber. Now I'm going to let it dry a couple of days and come back to it for details.

The village comes together quickly. I was quite happy with myself that I was never at all inclined to brighten the colours or to go straight from the tube for anything. These colours are all mixed and greyed.

Status thus far. Compositionally, I may need to darken the Ivy more to push against her and hold her upright.
