DAY SEVEN
And on the Seventh Day he rested (which sounds a bit like a cop out)
It has not been a productive day yet. All I've managed to do is tinker with some details. I'm afraid of doing more to the plate or the ivy bushes though know that I should.
No cowardice!
...and then, with the battle cry of No Cowardice! ringing through my head I make a change that I'd always wanted to make but couldn't. I block in the bottom with an architectural foreground.
Three times I have tried to leave the apartment and each time I have paused to consider the painting and then gone back to do a little bit of adjustment...and then allowed an hour or more to pass as I worked on the piece. The latest was an attempt to fix her right arm. It may have been a mistake as I try turning the elbow in, rather than entirely making the turn at the wrist. In any case, the bicep, tricep, elbow, and forearm join is a mess.
The second one is what I have as dinner time looms, after a day spent working on that arm. The last is what I started the day with.It does not look very different from the original but it has reached that sweet spot where it looks better when I don't squint at it.
