ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Currently, I am adopting the expression 'Post-Contemporary' to describe my creative pursuits. More specifically, I am a Mannerist. Art, for me, is not about novelty or individuality, high concepts or specificity. It is about coloured rectangles as a means to crystallize and contemplate aspects of the human condition. Because my aesthetic and my input is generally 19th century, I am comfortable with my output having an Old World feel, even sometimes being direct references to the art of the past, but I am ultimately a creature of the now and there is no effort to feign otherwise.
